Hospice Care
What is Hospice?
Hospice care is a type of specialized care that provides support and comfort to patients who are facing a life-limiting illness. The goal of hospice care is to improve the quality of life for patients and their families during this difficult time, rather than curing or treating the illness itself. Hospice care focuses on managing symptoms and providing emotional, spiritual, and social support to the patient and their family.
Hospice care can be provided in a variety of settings, including the patient's home, a hospice facility, or a nursing home. The hospice team may include physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, certified nursing aides, and other healthcare professionals who work together to provide comprehensive care. This includes a combination of medical, spiritual, and emotional care, as well as education and support for the family.
